Maybe crochet can be cool after all...
When I first saw the cover of Simple Crochet by Erika Knight I knew that I wanted some of these turkish slippers but I had my doubts as to whether I'd ever be able to make them or not. Well, I did it and I couldn't be more pleased! It seems so typical of all the crochet projects, but most of them are a whole lot simpler than they appear. These are made from Lion Brand Jiffy Mohair Look Yarn in denim. They're really comfortable and flattering on your feet.
I made another hat too. I used Dot's UBW pattern and just made it longer so I could roll it up. I used Lion Brand Homespun yarn in antique. Homespun seems like a popular yarn but I don't really like working with it because it is so hard to see your stitches.
Now that my crochet is improving, I've gotten a few requests for hats and slippers so I *had* to go get more yarn :)

I know this sounds crazy but I am looking for brown ticking for my daughters duvets on her beads. I did a search and your cute bag with the brown ticking came up in a search. Can you tell me where you got that fabric? Thank you so much. Love your website.

The best thing about crochet is how it can be free form. I love starting a chain and seeing where it ends up. (Plus I'm a big baby about patterns) Diggin on the slippers. Kudos!

Oh I adore those slippers, they're so cute. You can add little pom-poms on the toes :o)
