Happy 4th of July!

July4thflags

I've been collecting Fourth of July fabrics for the last few months because I wanted to make these pennant banners for decorations. I made a simple pattern if you'd like to try it yourself.

Here's a closer view of the fabrics I used. I think my favorite ended up being the red, white, and blue butterfly fabric. I'm going to make some more for my summer garden and I'll also be making some to put in the shop.

These are some river rocks that the kids and I painted last year. It's fun and easy and a great way to decorate. They're good for holding down tablecloths on a windy day too :)

Thanks for the pattern! I just made up a cute one for my daughter's 1st birthday.

I love the banner. I'm making one for my daughter's 10th b'day next month. They make a nice change from paper decorations.

Your work is very inspiring and motivating. Thanks for sharing.

Best wishes...B

Well I'm not the most patriotic person in the world but I have to say I LOVE THE BANNERS!!!!!!! I've been eyeing those in the Land of Nod catalog and have one in the works for my daughters' bedroom.

Hehe, I used the same butterfly fabric to make 4th of July kerchifs for the dogs. http://setemupbarkeep.blogspot.com/2005/07/happy-july-4th.html

AHHH Adorable ..It makes me want to garden LOVE IT

I, too, have been wanting to make one of these with all sorts of fabrics. I'm more inclined to do it now that you've made it just one step easier by sharing your pattern. Did you thread them on a cord? I've thought I would sandwich the top edges in a bias tape, but yours would be more adjustable for different places by sliding them along the cord or rope, I suppose.

yay! i saw similar banners in land of nod and i've been wanting to make some for my office - thanks for the pattern!
