Advent Day 18: The Polar Express and magical miniature wonderglobes

The_polar_exprss_by_chris_van_allsb

Book: The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
Activity: Magical Miniature Wonderglobes

I imagine most of you are familiar with this book, if not the movie. I'm a big admirer of Chris Van Allsburg's work so if you haven't seen the book be sure to take a look at it and his exquisite detailed drawings. His website is very cool and has a lot of fun activities for kids. Click here to go to his postcard page and send someone a postcard of The Polar Express.

I just dropped by to see what you have been up to and just had to say (as my sister-in-law says) these are so fricken adorable.

Love em...

I do admire your handiwork! Really great idea-I had been thinking of some kind of a snow globe idea before Christmas, but this is much better.

The snowglobes are awesome, Cassi! Love them!

So, so charming x.

I love, love, love this idea. We're making these tonight. Your blog is a gift we're able to open throughout the year. Thank you!
With Appreciation, Gayle

Thanks so much for the inspiration...I've been hunting for gifts that my 7-year-old daughter can make for the grandparents and these will be PERFECT! She has a huge collection of snow globes, so I'm sure she'll love the idea of making her own.

Love, Love, Love your advent ideas! Thanks again.

Cheers,
Suzanne
