Onward
I am so glad the weekend is over. The kids had a visit from their father whom they haven't seen in almost two years and we had some big issues to discuss. I feel completely drained emotionally. I can't go into much here but all I have to say is thank goodness for crochet; something to keep my hands busy and my mind focused. It's hard enough dealing with a rational person under these circumstances but throw in a few mental issues and I am once again walking on ice. Sometimes it feels like I've walked through
a giant spiderweb and I'll never get it all off of me.
We came home to new snow on the ground and fresh snow falling from the sky. It didn't last for long but I took some pictures knowing there may not be many snowfalls left.

Spiderwebs is the perfect analogy.

I can certainly relate to that - crafting kept me sane through my marraige break-up and father/children issues.

I could feel the freeze...and I'm on tropics...maybe it's the feeling about kids and father stuff.
Don't worry honey,be happy you are the talent one.
Sorry for my bad English.

Sorry for the rough patch that you had to deal with...I come to your site to get uplifted and realized that you are real and dealing with life issue like everyone. Keep your head up, keep bestowing love on your babies, and know that you are loved. I feel you on dealing with the ex..hopefully it will get better in time.

The orange and green towel will make a fabulous beach bag! I really don't like it as a towel, but when you mentioned beach bag, it just totally came alive. Thanks for setting it free.

I was a single mom for many years and know that terrible sinking feeling that comes with an ex like that and your precious children. Hugs.

Wishing you the best and for your children too.

I'm sorry you had a rough weekend. I hope, at least, that your kids enjoyed their visit with their father and that you were able to get through what you two needed to get through.

I understand you pretty well... if I didn't have my craftings, I think I would be mad by now!

Thanks too for sharing, as many others have said. I have two close friends who are just beginning their journeys through their own spiderwebs, so I appreciate the metaphor also. I can't wait to share it with them in the hopes that they will realize the positive part of the feeling of never getting it all off of you is that you do, of course, break free eventually. Best wishes.

Thank you for sharing your post today. I finally do not feel so alone. I, a single mother of a three year old girl can appreciate the spider web metaphor. I have a spider web, too. In this blog world, where I read to lose myself and indulge in what seem to be almost "too good to be true" lives...It is a comfort to be touched by an unexpected connection.
Thank-you, kindly. -Cyndy

I don't know you, but from your post it sounds like you are having a difficult time.Keep your head up and stay strong, tomorrow will be better.Just tell yourself that.

Walking through a spiderweb is a good description -- other people can't see it but the twitches it creates are very real.
Hugs.

Hooray for handwork, it has a wonderful way of pulling one's mind off whatever is troubling. I was just thinking about this myself. Hope you're feeling better.

"Mental issues" take their toll, don't they? Enjoy the view from the other side of this past weekend and be good to yourself.
