Miniature Cairns

I've been working on these for awhile: they are miniature cairns. These are a familiar sight in the area where I live - hikers marking a trail or making a little monuments to remember special places. We've made some of our own too on warm days down by the river.
The stones are made from polymer clay and permanently stacked so they can be a source of contemplation next to your bed, on your desk, or any place you want to be reminded how to find your way home.
They will be for sale in my shop very soon. I hope you like them :)

Oh how sweet! We started building cairns before our trip to Scotland last summer.

Beautiful. They remind me of Andy Goldsworthy's art.

Very cute. I had one in my old house erected in loving memory of our beloved cat in the bottom of the garden. I had forgotten all about it until I saw yours. Thank you

Very cool! I see them on the beach all the time and find them inspiring. Silly to some, but inspiring to me.

Cassie--I love them! I always enjoy seeing those stacks of rocks out along trails---we have a lot of them around here, too.
Do they polymer clay the color of rocks? Or did you mix it yourself? They are wonderful!

Those are fantastic! I love that they are so tiny and delicate but a perfect replica of rocks and stones. They look SO. REAL.
I want one for my desk!

Those are lovely!
I had friends in college (geologists, no less) who could never remember which girl's name those sounded like. So we took to calling them "Bettys."

I really like them, you wouldn't know they weren't real pebbles. I didn't realise how tiny they were until the last photo - so cute!

I do like them - that is a lovely idea. We like to make tiny cairns too, though I'd never have thought of using polymer clay.
