One of my favorite aisles in the thrift store is the wood aisle. These are some of the things I found on one of my last forays - I was especially excited about the little hutch and the wooden shoes.
These are after pictures of the hutch and the chair, aren't they cute?! I have visions of making the little hutch into a miniature craft cabinet with folded bolts of cloth and jars of buttons and stuff. For the little green chair I want to make a cushion and imagine relaxing in it with a mojito at my side :)
I don't have a before picture of this bench but it was plain wood when I bought it. I used acrylic paint and finished it with a coat of varnish.
These are fun for the kids to do too. You might need to use some sandpaper on items that have been previously painted or varnished but take a look next time you're thrifting and see what you come up with!

wow,that looks absolutly amazing!

Oh, I love this! And fully agree that the wood aisle often reveals pieces like this with so much potential...as a long as you can see past all those often dark and poor quality items to what they can become.
The hutch, the shoes, the darning egg are all such great finds. Lucky you, as always!

funny, the wood aisle has always been my least favorite, but now I'm going to have to take a closer look.

The wood aisle is always my second stop right after the Pyrex and bakeware aisle! However, my wood items don't turn into such cute goodies as yours have...

Cassi, if you used a stiff foam you could make the chair into a seat FOR your mojito : )

Those are so adorable! I collect little wooden chairs, so I am digging the green one. We don't get things like that at our thrift stores and especially not a specified isle. :(

I once saw a wooden shoe nailed to a tree trunk. Birds built a nest in it. Could not have been sweeter. My thrift stores don't get stuff like that. I'm more likely to find items like plastic needlepoint perpetual calendars with half the numbers gone.

Wow - they are wonderful finds - and you have done them up so nicely. I just love the red miniature shelves - it would look so good with crafts bits and pieces on it
