Crocheted Stone

Belladiastonecrochet

A new addition to my quarry: the crocheted stone!  Inspired by Resurrection Fern, I decided to give crocheting with thread a try.  I wanted to cover a stone like Margie and I think it came out so pretty!

I used four colors of itty bitty thread and made three rounds of each color.  The stone is about 3" long and 2" wide.

I wasn't sure how I would do the back so it was kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing but I really like the spider web look it has.

Collecting rocks is one of my summer past times and I'm building up a stash of stones so I'll have plenty to work with this winter.  I'm going to experiment with color and contrast next.

I love this.. it's so beautiful and the colours are perfect

That is one well dressed stone. Bet all the other stones were jealous when you picked that one to be your chanteuse.

that's so great - I wish I had the time and energy...

this tickles me to no end

cute idea!

i've started crocheting a blanket similar to your vintage stripe blanket, except i start every row on the same side and i'm using only 4 colours...

I just love this little stone! Such a cute idea! I will keep this in mind for certain!

that is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen... shame I dont crochet

I've never seen that before, neat!!!!

Hugs,
Lory

Oh lucky stone! t.x

That is really cool! I don't crochet but have a couple of favorite Christmas ball ornaments that were encircled with crochet much the same as your rock. Neat way to showcase an interesting rock or one from a special trip.

oh! it's so sweet!! and in all my favorite colors.

So pretty.

that is so cool! really beautiful:)

How great this is! Kids in my class always give me little rocks and stones, they have a magical thing!

That totally rocks :)

I love the color choices and the shape (it looks like an easter egg).

Love the colour choices - lovely work !

Beautiful and what a great idea!

What a great idea! I love it displayed amongst the 'regular' rocks :)

Hi Cassi----I love it! I made one awhile back but yours is so much more whimsical...

How beautiful and unique! You did a wonderful job... and picked such perfect colors as well!

So cute and clever! You amaze me! Hey - I need to THANK YOU - today I used your tutorial on how to put a button on my sidebar - and it worked!!! And I didn't have to hire the highschool kid and pay him to do it making me look like an idiot!!! Thanks so much!!! Nan
