Just wanted to say how awe-inspired I am by your site! I found it through another site, and was taken to your 'things I've made' page - I was astounded by the beauty and not to mention volume of your creations - wow. I've just started a blog myself, and have added a link to your page.
Thanks for sharing all your brilliant skills!

She is absolutely one of my favorite writers! My favorite quote from the book/movie is:
"I would hate to get to the end of my life to discover I had been living someone else's idea of what a life should be."
I was in Kenya -
and as I went around,
I saw all the places
and things in her stories,
and her stories just came to life.
Indeed, Isak Dinessen is one of the greatest storytellers of all time.
Ode to Isak Dinesen.

Those little blue eggs are so beautiful. And such a nice quote. I needed to hear that one.

"Do the breezes that blow where I have been carry memories of me?"

I had this book on my to-read list for ages, but could never find a copy. I finally found one (in the wrong section) a few months back. She is such a great writer - reading the book felt like watching an artist paint a picture.

Love this quote and LOVE this movie. I often listen to the soundtrack as I write about Africa...And I practically have the scene-music memorized. It takes me back to my trip to Kenya a few years back (I got to visit the Karen von Blixen-Finecke's actual house.) It also makes me think of my aunt and uncle who live there. Happy Friday!
