Chasing Cheerios has come up with a dozen activity bags for her toddler to use during a trip! She gives all the details here. As great as these are for traveling these would be wonderful to keep stashed somewhere and bring out whenever the need strikes :)

That's great. My 2 1/2 year old would love it! He's always asking for "else to play with," even if we're on a quick trip to Target.

Fantastic post! These pre-sorted bags are brilliant.
I used to make up activity bags for my children to use on long flights. I would add pipe cleaners to this list as they can be made into jewelry and letters too.

thanks for posting this. we're going on a car trip this weekend, and this is a great idea! also great for moms who are nursing and have toddlers to keep busy. i'm making a nursing bag for a friend with some of these ideas incorporated.
