Fourth of July rock painting! I'd like to say we do this every year but I will say we do it most years :) It's a great project to occupy the kids at a get-together or to make ahead and use them to decorate for a party or hold down tablecloths.
Materials:
smooth rocks
red, white, blue, and yellow acrylic paint
paint brushes
newspaper for covering the work area
jars of water for used brushes
Wash or wipe down the rocks with a rag. Set out the paint, paint brushes and a couple of jars of water on a newspaper covered workspace. Let the kids do their thing.
What's great about this is that no matter what they paint as long as it is in red, white, and blue it looks very patriotic! Give little ones just one color at a time and they'll have fun too :)
