I have a good idea for these fabric "tissues" (aren't they called hankies?) If you have any old swaddling blankets around, particularly the ones gotten from the hospital maternity ward, cut them up. Super soft. Very washable. They don't fray badly at all. I did this when my last grew out of swaddling and I thought I was so clever, but no one ever made a big deal out of it. And it's green, too.
