hi -
i loved this idea - could not get it together for halloween, so we made handprint turkeys (actually, they look a lot like doves - so could be christmas doves...but i digress). we had fun rolling and making our handprints. susie j says you need to make a lot of these and you do - they will crack upon drying. i think the key is **not to roll the dough out too thin** i'd go for at least 1/4" thick or more. i also think if i varnish them, i'll use a spray - less to absorb. and she wasn't kidding: store them out of reach until they dry - my kids were fascinated with "checking" on them. --mari

Those are fun keepsakes to make for the kids. These are my boys favorite sentimental holiday decorations.
Thanks for the shout.
