Have you checked out Imagine Childhood
yet? All of the items in their shop are
carefully chosen and each one encourages a
 child to be the master of their own
experience, inviting them to explore, invent,
 and imagine. Their blog is just as wondrous.
One of my favorites is their Nature Walk
series (take a look here, here, and here).
Readers from all over the world send in
pictures of their nature walks and I find it
absolutely fascinating - I think you will too! 
They have a Nature Walk Flickr group
as well.  As soon as I get my act together,
you'll be able to see pictures of
our walks here in Idaho :)


The Outdoor Hour Challenge has weekly nature study assignments that are based on the Handbook of Nature Study by Anna Botsford Comstock. (I love this book! Tons of information - a classic!)


 You'll find lots of great activities and

Green Hour is a program of the National Wildlife Federation. They have a weekly newsletter with simple ideas and activities that you can do with your children outside for an hour everyday. Some of the recent topics are Backyard Picnic, Pigeons, Common Scents and Night Crawlers.


The 100 Species Challenge is a
great way to motivate the kids to
explore your local flora and fauna.
Get started with a notebook and a
couple of identification books for
your local area.

Wow Cassi, what a great list. I'll be weeks getting to all of this. I too love The Magnifying Glass and Imagine Childhood--I just submitted a walk of ours a couple of weeks ago and it's on the line up!!!
