My other Back-Tack partner, the one I was sending to, was Mary at Mamie Makes. She's been so patient with me while I attended to family stuff and I really appreciate it. She chose a very unique craft to try out - hair jewelry! The book she wanted was from Lacis and called The Lock of Hair. I can't wait to see what she comes up with. She is also a knitter so I kept that in mind with the bag I made her; it's a tote that's great for carrying around needlework supplies. I also made a drawstring tote bag, a pincushion, and a "stuff" bag for odds and ends. I included a lot of goodies and treats but I'll wait till she receives it so I don't spoil her surprise.
For the label on the stuff bag, I treated muslin fabric with Bubble Jet Set and ran it through my printer, then I appliqued it onto the bag with a zigzag stitch. It is lined with the same fabric that the tote bag is lined with.
Here's a detail close-up on the drawstring bag. It's a woven embroidery stitch that I used to create the gusset on the bag. This bag is lined with cream colored flannel. I've been having a lot of fun with these drawstring bags lately :)
