Man, oh man, I've got a lot going on
this week and I haven't been able to do much blog reading but hopefully I'll catch up next week. Mostly, I'm anxiously waiting to see if Michelle or Abby have had their babies! Bella Dia Designs has been keeping me busy with book contributions and custom orders and I'm also designing some items for Mahar Drygoods. It's a gorgeous new online shop that carries artisan crafted goods for kids and the site artwork is by Jen Corace so it goes without saying that it is incredibly charming. I'm hoping to do another shop update for Mother's Day, I have a couple of new designs that I really like so remember to sign up on my email list (upper left sidebar) if you want to be notified when I add new things. I've also taken on a part-time job that will start next week doing bookkeeping and office management for a construction company. I can tell you more about that later :)
Anyway, enough chatter. So, do you like these little boxes? All I did was cover matchboxes and Moondrops boxes with some scrapbooking paper but I'm amazed at how it totally transforms them. I put a lining in the bottom of the matchboxes but the Moondrop boxes are a pretty white so I didn't think they needed it. I'm already using them for needles and my take-it-with-me sewing stuff and my covered button maker and I'm sure I'll find lots of other uses too.
"So what are Moondrops?", I can hear you asking. Well, I have always had a hard time falling asleep at night, I just can't seem to turn off all the thoughts from the day. I've recently started having a cup of Sleepytime Extra and two Moondrops lozenges before bed and it has really made a difference in helping me get to sleep. It may just be psychosomatic but as long as it works I'm happy, and sleeping ;) If you happen to go to the Celestial Seasonings site (makers of Sleepytime Extra) be sure to check out their coloring pages, they're all taken from the artwork on their boxes and so lovely, just don't be put off by the heading "Kid's Coloring Pages!"
